Six Arrested in Fake National Security Raid on Chinese Company at Agona Swedru

The Ghana Police Service has arrested six men accused of posing as security operatives to allegedly harass and assault foreign nationals at a manufacturing company in the Central Region.

According to police, the suspects stormed S. I Jun Manufacturing Company Limited at Agona Akwakwa near Mankrong Nkwanta on May 6, 2026, dressed in military and immigration uniforms.

Suspects Allegedly Posed as National Security Operatives

Police say the six suspects arrived in a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GW 8887-V and claimed to be National Security operatives.

Three of the suspects were reportedly dressed in Ghana Immigration Service uniforms, one wore a military uniform, while others appeared in camouflage and civilian clothing.

The suspects allegedly assaulted and intimidated workers at the company, including several Chinese nationals.

Chinese Nationals Found Handcuffed

Following a distress call received around midday, officers from the Agona Swedru District Police Command rushed to the scene and discovered three Chinese nationals, Man Guan, Chin Min, and MA Kaixiang, handcuffed at the premises.

The suspects were immediately arrested. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Agyemang Benjamin, 32
  • Mahama Iddrisu Dawuda Seidu, 48
  • Ofori Isaac, 35
  • Adom Bills, 32
  • Hayford Boafo, 47
  • Ato Mchenry, 48

All six are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

Security Agencies Verify Identities

Police say the Military Police, the Ghana Immigration Service, and National Security have been contacted to verify whether the suspects have any legitimate links to the security services.

Investigations are ongoing.
