Rev. Stephen Wengam and his wife, Lady Mrs Monica Wengam, have successfully completed their 4th Apostolic Visit to the Ashanti East Region of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

The event, held at the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Kumasi, brought together serving pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, as well as pastors’ widows for a period of intense prayer, spiritual impartation, fellowship, and learning.

The Ashanti East Regional Superintendent, Rev. Emmanuel Gyasi, welcomed the first couple and praised the intervention policies and projects introduced under Rev. Wengam’s leadership.

According to him, initiatives such as rebranding, revival, and aggressive church planting have contributed significantly to the growth and transformation of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

Intense prayer session

During the visit, Rev. Wengam led a three-and-a-half-hour prayer session focused on the Church, the nation, the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, and the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting.

He urged pastors to emulate the fervent faith of the early church fathers, remain steadfast in their calling, prioritise church planting, and strengthen their spiritual discipline.

Support for pastors and families

Lady Mrs Monica Wengam, who also serves as the National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, expressed appreciation to pastors’ wives for their active participation in the association’s activities.

She encouraged them to remain dedicated in fulfilling their roles and supporting the ministry alongside their spouses.

As part of the visit, she presented gifts to pastors, cloth to their spouses, and cash and other items to retired ministers, their wives, and pastors’ widows.

Lady Mrs Wengam explained that the welfare initiative is personally sponsored by herself and Rev. Wengam as a way of supporting pastors and church workers who may be facing various hardships.

“This is our modest way of caring for God’s people,” she said.

Special recognition and renewal of vows

In appreciation of their leadership and generosity, the Ashanti East Regional Council presented a special gift to Rev. and Mrs Wengam.

The council cited their visionary leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the growth of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

One of the highlights of the Apostolic Visit was the renewal of wedding vows led by Rev. Wengam for married couples.

He encouraged pastors and their wives to model godly Christian marriages and remain examples to the church and society.

The visit also featured the administration of Holy Communion, bringing the gathering to a spiritually significant close.
