The Madina Divisional Police Command has launched investigations into a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a police statement, signed by the Acrra regional Police Pubolic Relations Officer, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, while the former legislator was visiting her late father’s residence at Kwabenya.

Police say Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear during the incident and subsequently reported the matter to the Kwabenya Police.
She also presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which police observed had visible gunshot damage.
The former MP has since been issued with a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the vehicle has been retained by the police for forensic examination as part of ongoing investigations.
Authorities say efforts are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify all persons connected to the incident.
The police have assured the public that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
