Police investigate alleged assault by suspected Police officers at Teshie

The Nungua District Police Command has launched an investigation into the alleged assault of a resident of Teshie by individuals believed to be police officers.

According to a statement from the Accra Regional Police Command, signed by the PRO, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, the complainant, Alidu Mahama, reported the incident to the police on July 14, 2026, with visible injuries. Alidu alleged that he was attacked and assaulted by some police officers at Teshie earlier the same day without any provocation.

Police said a statement was taken from the complainant, and a police medical report form was issued to facilitate his medical examination and treatment as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Command said efforts are underway to identify the officers allegedly involved so they can be interrogated and any further action taken.

The Accra Regional Police Command assured the public that the case is being treated with the utmost seriousness and stressed that any officer found culpable would be dealt with in accordance with the law and the Police Service’s disciplinary procedures.

The Command also encouraged members of the public to continue reporting incidents of alleged police misconduct, assuring them that all complaints would be investigated fairly, impartially, and professionally.
