The Adontehene of Kokrobite in the GA South Municipality of Greater Accra, Nii Djabum Okrekeyeyue II, is urging the youth to abstain from political violence in the lead-up to the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

He emphasized that the youth are the future leaders and engaging in political violence now could hinder their prospects later in life.

In an interview with TV XYZ journalist, Alex Donkoh, Nii Djabum Okrekeyeyue II stressed the importance of maintaining peace and civility during the electoral process.

Furthermore, he called upon candidates to conduct nonviolent campaigns, highlighting the need to alleviate tensions surrounding the elections.

Additionally, he advocated for the police to take action against any politician using incendiary language during their campaigns, as such rhetoric could escalate conflicts and disrupt the electoral process.

Nii Djabum Okrekeyeyue II also urged the police IGP and the Interior minister to invite the minister for food and agriculture, Brain Acheampong, over his recent comments during the Easter festivities at Kwahu, where he repeated his earlier statement during the 2020 electioneering that the NPP would never hand over power to the NDC no matter the outcome of the polls.
