The Accra Regional Police Command, in a joint intelligence-led operation with the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID), has arrested five suspected members of an armed robbery and landguard syndicate at Sapeiman Faase in the Greater Accra Region.
The operation, conducted on 17 July 2026, led to the arrest of Torgbui Agah Semaglo (50), Shadrach Agah Semaglo (22), William Kweku Sedanu (21), Cyril Kassenu (26), and Kingsford Agah Semaglo (18).

A search of the suspects’ premises resulted in the retrieval of a cache of weapons and other offensive items, including a pump-action gun, a Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, a dummy Austria pistol, a jackknife, two kitchen knives, a face mask, 12 BB cartridges, three rounds of 9mm ammunition, one AK-47 round of ammunition, and a talisman.
Police say all the recovered items have been retained as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are believed to be members of a criminal group involved in armed robbery and landguard activities, and are alleged to have used the recovered weapons to terrorise residents in Sapeiman and surrounding communities.
The suspects remain in Police custody and are assisting with investigations as officers work to establish their involvement in other robbery-related offences and identify additional accomplices.
The Accra Regional Police Command has commended members of the public for providing credible information that contributed to the operation and urged residents to continue reporting suspicious persons and activities to the nearest Police Station or through the Police emergency numbers.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents across the Greater Accra Region.
