The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three former students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School for allegedly vandalising school property after completing their final West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The arrests follow the circulation of a viral video showing a group of former students damaging parts of the school’s infrastructure shortly after writing their final examination paper.

According to the Police, authorities of Hohoe E.P. SHS lodged a formal complaint on Friday, June 19, 2026, reporting that about five former students captured in the video had deliberately destroyed the school’s water pipeline system before leaving campus for their respective homes.
Acting on the complaint, the Volta North Regional Police Command deployed an intelligence surveillance team, which led to the arrest of three suspects identified as Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 19; Alhassan Mohammed, 20; and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20.
The suspects have since been handed over to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department to assist with investigations and are expected to be processed for court.
The Police Command expressed concern over what it described as a growing trend of students engaging in acts of vandalism and indiscipline after completing their examinations.
In a statement, the Command warned that any student found engaging in the destruction of school property, violence, or other unlawful conduct would face the full rigours of the law.
Police further disclosed that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the remaining suspects captured in the video.
The Command also appealed to parents, guardians, teachers, and school authorities to continue educating students on the legal consequences of vandalism and other criminal acts.
The incident comes amid renewed calls by security agencies for final-year students across the country to celebrate the completion of their examinations responsibly and avoid actions that could jeopardise their future opportunities.
