The Central East Regional Police Command has dismantled an alleged robbery syndicate operating in Kasoa, Millennium City and Agona Swedru following an intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of five suspects, including two ex-convicts.
The suspects have been identified as Bismark Amponsah, also known as “Dotcom,” 32, a driver; Abdul Razak Ibrahim, alias “Langa,” 32; Michael Annor Baah, alias “Money,” 29; Razak Jibril, alias “Salaala,” 53, a trader; and Nana Yaw Bediako, 46, also a trader.

According to police, Nana Yaw Bediako previously served a 15-year jail term for robbery and was released in 2024, while Razak Jibril served 25 years imprisonment for robbery and regained his freedom in 2023.

Police investigations indicate that the group was allegedly behind a series of robbery attacks within Kasoa, Millennium City and Agona Swedru and was planning another operation before they were intercepted.

The arrests were carried out on 9th May 2026 by officers from the Police Intelligence Department of the Central East Regional Command during a targeted intelligence-led operation.
Items retrieved from the suspects include a pump-action gun loaded with 54 BB cartridges, a foreign pistol with 38 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a taser with three magazines, and other dangerous weapons and implements believed to have been used in their operations.

All five suspects were arraigned before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on Tuesday and remanded into police custody.
They are expected to reappear before the court on 27th May 2026.

Police say investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate, including an alleged mastermind believed to be coordinating operations from prison.
