Viral Lies, Real Consequences: Tiktok Content Creator Arrested Over Fake Police Sex Scandal Claims

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested Isaac Boafo, aged 45, popularly known as “Duabo King,” for allegedly publishing false news intended to cause fear, panic, and reputational damage.

The arrest follows the circulation of a viral TikTok video in which the suspect accused four officers at the Central Police Station in Kumasi of engaging in inappropriate conduct with commercial sex workers during night patrols at Asafo.

Police say intelligence-led operations by the Police Intelligence Directorate led to his arrest.

During interrogation, Isaac Boafo admitted to making the video purely for online engagement and views, conceding he had no evidence to support the allegations.

He also acknowledged making unsubstantiated comments about the President of the Republic in his content creation.

The suspect has been formally charged and is currently in custody, assisting further investigations.

Police have once again warned the public against the creation and spread of false information on social media, stressing that such actions can cause unnecessary panic, damage reputations, and will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
