IGP Promotes 17 Police Officers for Exemplary Service

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen (17) police officers, including two senior officers, to their next ranks in recognition of their exemplary service, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

The promotions, effected on January 14, 2026, were granted in appreciation of the officers’ outstanding performance in the discharge of their responsibilities, particularly their commitment to operational excellence, discipline, and service to the nation. The move forms part of the Ghana Police Service’s broader strategy to motivate personnel who consistently demonstrate integrity and exceptional commitment in the line of duty.

Congratulating the officers, IGP Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), urged them to view their elevation as a call to higher responsibility, leadership, and accountability. They further encouraged all personnel of the Service to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty, and public service.

The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a key tool for boosting morale and strengthening effective policing across the country.
