The Ghana Police Service has dismissed circulating rumours suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away.
In a statement released today, the Service described the speculation as false, baseless, and malicious, emphasising that the IGP is alive, healthy, and fully engaged in the discharge of his duties.

“The IGP is alive and well and going about his duties as expected,” the statement clarified, urging officers, relatives, and the general public to disregard the misinformation.
The Police Service further cautioned individuals responsible for spreading such unfounded claims, reminding the public that deliberately creating and circulating false information is a criminal offence, and perpetrators will be held accountable when identified.
The Service encouraged the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information and avoid sharing unconfirmed reports.
