The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a Lebanese national, Omar Mikati, aged 58, which occurred on Friday, 20th June 2025, at his residence in East Legon, Accra.

Mikati was discovered lying in a pool of blood, prompting the swift deployment of the Crime Scene Management Unit (CSMU) from the Police Headquarters. The team collected forensic evidence to aid the ongoing investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate that the assailants fled with the victim’s Samsung mobile phone but left behind other valuable items, including two iPhones and a GCB ATM card bearing the name Paul Twumasi Ankrah.

The body of the deceased was conveyed to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Paul Twumasi Ankrah at Samsam Medie. He later implicated his alleged accomplice, Asiedu Henning, also known as Nana Kofi Anum.

On 2nd July 2025, police apprehended Henning at his hideout in Kutunse in an intelligence-led operation. He subsequently led investigators to a location where a knife, believed to have been used in the crime, was retrieved. The knife is currently undergoing forensic analysis.

Both suspects have been arraigned before the Adabraka District Court 1 and remanded into police custody. They are expected to reappear in court on Tuesday, 8th July 2025.

The Ghana Police Service continues to urge the public to support law enforcement efforts by providing relevant information to help combat violent crimes.
