In a powerful show of leadership and reassurance, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, has taken the fight against armed robbery directly to communities hardest hit by criminal activity, promising residents renewed protection of lives and property.
The hands-on engagement follows growing anxiety among residents of Kronum and surrounding communities, who have raised alarm over a spike in armed robbery incidents. Rather than responding from behind a desk, the Regional Commander chose to walk the ground himself—listening, observing, and acting.
The tour, conducted on Wednesday, was designed to foster trust, gather firsthand intelligence, and work collaboratively with residents, opinion leaders, and local stakeholders to develop practical, community-driven solutions to the security challenges.
Speaking directly to residents, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur urged the public to report all criminal activities, stressing that police work does not end with the recovery of stolen items.

“Even when stolen items are not immediately retrieved, reporting helps us gather intelligence and build solid cases against criminals,” he explained, cautioning against the widespread belief that reporting crime is futile unless property is recovered.
According to him, silence only emboldens criminals, while timely information empowers law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks and prevent future attacks.
Police and Community, Side by Side
The police delegation included several senior officers who engaged residents in open discussions on security strategies and community-police cooperation. The team comprised: ACP Francis Kwame, Deputy Regional Police Commander, DSP Andrews Adom Okyere, ACP Godwin Ahianwo, ACP Ibrahim, Superintendent Christopher Owusu, Soul, Obour, and other senior officers
Residents welcomed the visit, describing it as a rare but reassuring gesture that signals seriousness and empathy from the police leadership.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command under the Ghana Police Service says the engagement marks the beginning of sustained operations and intelligence-led interventions aimed at reclaiming robbery-prone areas and restoring peace.
As fear slowly gives way to hope, the message from the police leadership is clear: security is strongest when the police and the people stand together.
