Hundreds expected to attend final funeral rites of late king of Gonja Kingdom in Damongo
His death, marked an end to an incredibly peace loving man whose reign united the Gonja Kingdom.
The Yagbonwura is to be sent home to the ancestors on Sunday February 26, followed with the final funeral rites at Damongo.
Born in the year 1933 to Yapeiwura Bakari the son of Yagbonwura Mahama of Kusawgu, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa I, was enskinned as king of the Gonja Kingdom in March 2010.
After 12 successful years on the Yagbon skins, the entire Gonja kingdom woke up to a rather sad news of the death of Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa at the Jakpa palace in the early hours of Sunday February 5.
That marked the end of the road for a man whose life was a reflection of peace and unity among the people he ruled.
During his coronation in 2010, Yagbonwura promised a leadership style that would transform the lives of his people.
True to his words, the Gonja Kingdom under Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa has undoubtedly spearheaded and facilitated the development of Gonjaland extending same to the entire Northern Region.
As the day for the final funeral rites of the great king Tuntumba Boresa nears, donations are being made to support the big occasion.
Former President Mahama, Managing Director for Ghana Water Company, Ingineer Dr clifford Braimah, Member of parliament for Damongo constituency, Abu Jinapor, Forestry commission have since made huge donations to the funeral planning committee.
President Akufo-Addo and some appointees, former president Mahama, political party leaders are expected to attend the funeral.
