The Ghana Police Service has dismantled an organised cybercrime operation in Tema, arresting two suspects and rescuing multiple victims who were allegedly kidnapped and forced into online fraud activities.
In a statement issued on February 12, 2026, police said the operation was carried out by a combined team from the Special Operations Authority (SOA) and officers from the Okpoi-Gono District Police Headquarters, acting on the direct instructions of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno.

Intelligence-Led Operation
The coordinated operation, led by ASP Grace Owusua Gyan, took place on February 12, 2026, at Devtraco Estate, Community 25, Tema.
According to the police, the mission was aimed at rescuing kidnapped victims, arresting suspected cybercrime operatives and disrupting ongoing cyber fraud activities
“The operation was intelligence-led and executed successfully without resistance from the suspects,” the statement said.
Suspects Arrested, Victims Rescued
Two male suspects, Robinson Endurance and Derrick Glory, were arrested at the location. Officers also rescued ten victims who were allegedly detained and illegally being exploited to carry out cyber fraud.
The rescued individuals are currently receiving appropriate support while assisting police investigations.

Exhibits Retrieved
Police recovered several items believed to have been used in the cybercrime operation, including: 19 laptop computers, 20 mobile phones and two WiFi routers
Authorities confirmed that photographs of the suspects, victims, and recovered exhibits have been documented for official records and evidentiary purposes.

Investigations Ongoing
The Okpoi-Gono District Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the full network behind the operation and to determine whether additional suspects are involved.
Police have assured the public that further updates, including prosecution details, will be communicated as the case progresses.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime and protecting vulnerable persons from exploitation, urging the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
