
The Nkawie Divisional Police Command has arrested the prime suspect in connection with the robbery and murder incident at Radiance Filling Station in Mpasatia, Ashanti Region.
The arrest followed a coordinated operation led by the Ashanti Regional Cyber Crime Unit, the Kukuom Police, and the Nkawie Divisional Command, which led to the capture of William Ofori Atta at his hideout in Kukuom, in the Ahafo Region, at around 5:30 a.m. on June 21, 2025.
During police interrogation, the suspect confessed to fatally shooting Emmanuel Kwabena Boakye, a staff member at the filling station, on May 26, 2025, during a robbery operation.
A mobile phone believed to belong to the deceased was retrieved from the suspect and has been taken for forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.
William Ofori Atta is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned before the court to face charges.
The Ghana Police Service says it remains committed to ensuring justice for the victim and will continue to pursue all leads until every individual connected to the crime is brought to book.
