A swift response by the Obuasi Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service to a distress call has foiled a robbery attempt along the Tutuka–Akrofuom road in Obuasi, resulting in the arrest of one suspect.
According to preliminary investigations, the police team arrived to find a gang of suspected robbers, who immediately fled into the nearby bush, abandoning two unregistered motorbikes and a machete at the scene.

The officers pursued the fleeing suspects and successfully apprehended Pascal Yenkye, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while attempting to escape on his motorbike.
The injured suspect is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard, while a manhunt is underway to track down and arrest the remaining suspects.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public safety, maintaining law and order, and ensuring that perpetrators of crime face justice.
