Five Arrested for Armed Robbery at Dompim Mining Site

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested five individuals in connection with an armed robbery at a mining site in Dompim, located in Ghana’s Western Region.

According to preliminary police investigations, a group of five armed men stormed the mining site, firing gunshots and robbing workers of gold concentrate. One of the suspects, Akwasi Abban, was apprehended on the spot by workers and handed over to the police.

During interrogation, Abban confessed to participating in the robbery and named the site’s foreman, Ebenezer Soore, as the informant who allegedly provided crucial details to the robbery gang. Soore was subsequently arrested.

Following further investigations, three additional suspects, Elijah Arthur, also known as “Possible,” Elisha Arthur, alias “Skonzy,” and David Agyarko, alias “Big Man”, were arrested on June 2, 2025.

All five suspects have been arraigned before court and remanded into prison custody as police continue their investigations.

Authorities have assured the public of their commitment to bringing all perpetrators of violent crimes to justice and maintaining safety in mining communities.
