President John Dramani Mahama has assured the Nayiri, Overlord of the Mamprugu Kingdom, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga II that a high-level mediation effort to address the protracted chieftaincy conflict in Bawku will resume shortly.
On Tuesday, the president who embarked on a peace-building mission to the two kingdoms said the initiative aims to foster dialogue and promote lasting peace in Bawku.
During his engagement with the Nayiri, President Mahama reiterated the government’s commitment to working with traditional leaders, stakeholders, and mediators to resolve the longstanding dispute.
