Zebilla Police Killing: Another Suspect Nabbed as Intelligence Net Tightens

The Ghana Police Service has arrested an additional suspect in connection with the murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region, as investigations intensify into the shocking crime.

The suspect, Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, also known as Baaluuse, was arrested on 17th February 2026 during a joint intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga.

Police say a search conducted on the suspect led to the retrieval of three mobile phones, which are currently being analysed as part of ongoing investigations. Further intelligence has revealed that the suspect has appeared in videos displaying weapons believed to be linked to criminal activities in the area.

A special police operation is now underway to locate and retrieve the weapons and to track down other accomplices connected to the murder.

The statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo said the suspect is in police custody, assisting investigations, while authorities assure the public that further updates will be communicated as the case progresses. The Police Command has reiterated its commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice and restoring calm and security in the Zebilla area.
