The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man and the injury of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.
The incident occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2026, after police received information that a man and his wife had been shot and required urgent assistance.
Police responding to the scene found Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, suffering from gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom residence.

The couple was rushed to Finney Hospital, Weija, where Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was subsequently referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where she remains on admission and is responding to treatment.
Rahman’s body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
Two brothers arrested
The police, with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), arrested Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, as investigations intensified.
According to police, Adams allegedly admitted shooting the couple.
He reportedly told investigators that he was motivated by his belief that Rahman had repeatedly described him as “lazy” and “useless,” comments he claimed had affected him mentally.
Investigators say Adams subsequently led them to his brother’s room at Tuba, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered.

Police said the weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wall drop of Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased.
Further investigations established that the two brothers live together at Tuba.
Police search for another suspect
Adams reportedly told investigators that the pistol had been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon.
He subsequently led police to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but the suspect was not found.
Police say efforts are underway to locate Gideon to assist with investigations.
Meanwhile, Bala Bilyon remains in custody assisting the investigation.
The Accra Regional Police Command says investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and bring all persons connected to the incident to justice.
