The Accra Regional Police Command has launched investigations into an alleged arson attack at the headquarters of Grace Mountain Power Ministry (Alpha Hour), located within the Mile 7 District of the Tesano Division, following the arrest of a suspect linked to the incident.
According to police, the suspect, Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng, was arrested after intelligence gathered on Monday, February 9, 2026, indicated that she had unlawfully entered the church premises and deliberately set fire to the auditorium.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect entered the auditorium carrying a liquid substance contained in rubber containers, which she allegedly sprinkled around the interior before igniting it with matches, leading to the outbreak of the fire.

The fire caused extensive damage to property within the auditorium. Items destroyed include air conditioners, chairs, windows, ten offering boxes, ceiling materials, electrical cables, and the lighting system, dealing a significant blow to the church’s facilities.
Police officers who visited the scene retrieved four rubber containers, believed to have been used in carrying out the alleged arson attack. These items have been secured as exhibits to aid ongoing investigations.
The suspect has since been cautioned and is currently in police custody, assisting investigators as efforts continue to establish the motive behind the incident and determine whether other persons were involved.
The Accra Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property and has urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station to help prevent and combat crime.
