When paid attention to, talents like diamonds or gold can be a treasure that takes one far beyond their imaginations. Like Melissa Attiogbe Sackey, a ten-year-old girl who was once TV3’s talented kid’s participant, her God-gifted talent as a hairstylist has made her an icon globally.
Young Melissa, the CEO of STYLISH MELISSA GH, in an interview with Mr Peter Quao Adattor, disclosed that she started making ponytails and fantasy hairstyles at age three.
Her exploit motivated her mother, Benedicta Sackey, to take her to TV3’s talented kids. In addition to the ponytails, she makes jungle braids and make-up.
The ten-year-old girl revealed that she gets her idea through dreams. According to her mother, Melissa usually informs her about new hairstyles God has revealed to her.
The single mother said she wanted her only child to become a lawyer to defend women in the future or a doctor, but Melissa has dreams that override her wishes.
For Melissa, though education is good and the key to success, her passion for braiding and pony styles will always guide her in future.
She hopes to grow to become one of the most outstanding stylists globally.
Melissa started by helping her single mother in her salon at Abeka Lapaz in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
She combines that with her educational responsibilities, becoming a child stylish.
Adding make-up and fixing nails to her work always amazes her mother because, according to her, she only does braiding of hair and ponytails.
Melisa says she learned to make up and fix nails by herself.
At her age, Melissa takes orders for weddings and other special occasions.
It is her dream to open salons in Ghana, the whole of West Africa and even in other European countries.
Melissa Attiogbe Sackey encouraged all parents, especially single parents, to always support their children to explore since that can make them a star in the world.
