FIVE CHINESE NATIONALS WERE ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ELLEMBELLE EXCAVATORS

The police in the western region have arrested five Chinese nationals during an intelligence-led operation as part of an ongoing investigation into the Ellembelle excavator’s saga. The five Chinese suspects were allegedly connected and involved in the case.

The police intelligence-led operation was conducted from the night of 7th September to the wee hours of 8th September 2022. Those arrested are Shi Zhong Qix, Wei Lin Xi, Huang Qian Xi, Li Jian Wen, and Huang Qian Sheng, at their hideout at Asiama, in the Ellembe District of the Western Region.

The Ghana Immigration Service has been contacted for details of their immigration status and their Ghanaian sponsors to assist with the investigation.

As the investigation continues, the police assure the public that all other accomplices, both Ghanaian and foreigners will be arrested to face justice.

Meanwhile the District Chief Executive of Ellembelle, Kwasi Bonzo has been granted police inquiry bail to appear in court today Thursday august 8 on five counts including conspiracy, assault of public officers, and obstruction of lawful duty.

The western regional police command and all the teams involved in the operations were highly commended for their continued selflessness and patriotism.
