Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, says the government would have repaired more roads in Ghana if the E-Levy had received public backing.
According to him, the country’s precarious financial situation has affected some of the road ministry’s infrastructure projects.
He explained this on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, to the members of the Government Assurances Committee of Parliament.
He stated that the E-levy has not generated the amount of money for the government to use that was anticipated.
He added that, the road sector was one of the E-focal Levy’s points. Therefore, it might have helped if it had received support.
