The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seven officers of the Tema Regional Police Command in recognition of their exceptional performance during a recent anti-robbery operation in Tema.

The promotions, announced on April 14, 2026, were awarded to officers who responded swiftly to a robbery of a Mobile Money vendor in Tema Community 5. Their intervention led to the shooting of two robbery suspects and the recovery of a firearm, ammunition, and other critical exhibits linked to the incident.

The officers promoted are Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed, Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru, Corporal Jerome Akator, and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah.
During a brief ceremony, the IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board, congratulated the officers and commended them for demonstrating courage, discipline, and dedication in the line of duty.

Christian Tetteh Yohuno urged the officers to see their elevation in rank as a call to greater responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
He also encouraged other personnel across the Ghana Police Service to remain vigilant and dedicated in their efforts to combat crime and ensure citizens’ safety.

The recognition forms part of ongoing efforts by the Police Administration to motivate officers who display bravery and professionalism in critical operations.
