Two students captured in a viral video allegedly assaulting a student of Obrachire Senior High School have been arraigned before the District Court Agona Swedru.
The accused, identified as Benedict Appiah and Bilal Mamid, both students of Swedru School of Business, appeared before the court on March 11, 2026, on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, assault, and battery.

The court, presided over by Victor Kusi, heard that the case follows a widely circulated video showing the alleged assault on the Obrachire SHS student, which sparked public outrage on social media.
Both accused persons pleaded not guilty to the two charges.
The court granted them bail in the sum of ¢10,000 each, with two sureties each, and ordered them to reappear before the court on April 17, 2026.

As part of the bail conditions, the accused are required to report to the Divisional Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Servicein Agona Swedru every Friday at 9:00 a.m. until the final determination of the case.
The incident, which has been widely shared online, has renewed concerns about student violence and discipline in some senior high schools, prompting calls for stronger enforcement of school regulations and swift justice.
