The Adabraka District Court has remanded Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, into police custody in connection with a viral assault case and additional allegations of sextortion.
The suspect appeared before the court on Friday, January 16, 2026, where the presiding judge, Her Worship Nana Abena Asoh Owusu Omenyo, ordered that he be remanded to assist ongoing investigations. He is expected to reappear in court on January 21, 2026.

The remand follows investigations into an earlier incident captured in a widely circulated viral video, which allegedly shows the suspect assaulting another individual. Police say the matter has since expanded, following fresh complaints alleging that the suspect threatened to release intimate images of victims unless certain demands were met, acts investigators say are consistent with sextortion-related offences.
Law enforcement sources indicate that investigations are ongoing as more information and potential complainants emerge. Police are urging members of the public with relevant information to cooperate with investigators to aid the probe.
The court’s decision to remand the suspect, according to prosecutors, is to allow sufficient time for investigators to complete inquiries into both the assault and the newly surfaced allegations.
