The arrests followed a targeted operation carried out on December 10, 2025, by a joint team from the Accra Regional Police Command and the Police Intelligence Directorate.
The primary suspect, Suleiman Danjumah, also known as Solomon Addai and Innocent, had earlier been granted bail by the Adabraka District Court on November 25, 2025, in connection with a separate case involving a Smith & Wesson pistol and 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
According to a police statement, Danjumah was re-arrested during a follow-up intelligence-led operation after information suggested he was once again in possession of an illicit firearm.
A search conducted at the time of his arrest led to the recovery of an unregistered 9mm Parabellum Arcus 94 pistol.
Police also retrieved several other items, including military uniforms and headgear, a police-issued Huawei mobile phone, four additional mobile phones, a jackknife, a shocker, 34 blisters of 225mg Tramadol, and an unregistered jungle motorbike.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the police-issued Huawei phone had been unlawfully taken. Further inquiries also revealed that Danjumah allegedly admitted to drug distribution activities in the Las Vegas–Achimota area.
The suspect is further accused of firing warning shots following a confrontation with Mutala Mohammed, another suspected drug dealer, prompting additional police action.
Mutala Mohammed was subsequently arrested, and a search of his premises uncovered 19 blisters of Tramadol 120mg, commonly known as “Red,” as well as two parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
During interrogation, Danjumah identified Usman Ali as the source of the firearm. Police say efforts are underway to locate and arrest him to support ongoing investigations.
All seized firearms, drugs, and other items have been retained as exhibits and will be forwarded to the Police Forensic Science Laboratory for further analysis. Meanwhile, all suspects remain in police custody to assist with investigations.
