The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old man, Eric Asamoah, for allegedly sodomising a 7-year-old boy at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality.
According to police sources, the incident occurred on November 3, 2025, and the suspect was tracked and arrested with the assistance of the victim’s father.
The young boy was immediately taken to the Saltpond Municipal Hospital for medical examination and treatment, where he is currently responding to care, according to the medical report.
During interrogation, the suspect, Eric Asamoah, reportedly admitted to the offence. He has since been charged with defilement and is expected to be arraigned before Circuit Court 2 in Cape Coast on November 6, 2025, for prosecution.
The Central Regional Police Command has assured the public that due process of the law will be followed to ensure justice for the victim.
