
The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested 25-year-old Daniel Cudjoe, aliasAto Asare, in connection with a violent clash between two rival groups at Simpa, near the Simpa Sawmill in the Nsuaem District, on September 28, 2025.
According to police, the incident erupted after Cudjoe, his late brother Emmanuel Cudjoe, 23, and about ten others confronted a rival group from Dadwen, led by suspects Alhassan and Abolo, both currently on the run. The confrontation reportedly followed the destruction of Cudjoe’s mining equipment at a local site.
The standoff escalated into an exchange of gunfire, leading to the death of Emmanuel Cudjoe.
Police retrieved several exhibits from the scene, including: Two pump-action guns, three machetes, four motorbikes, one tricycle, and a Traditional regalia
The Command has assured the public that investigations are ongoing and pledged to pursue all remaining suspects to ensure they face the full rigours of the law.
