
The Western Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to a robbery incident that took place at Nyanikrom, near Shama Junction, on Wednesday, 9th July 2025.
The arrests followed a targeted surveillance operation triggered by credible intelligence suggesting that the suspects—armed with insider information—planned to rob company officials transporting funds withdrawn from a bank in Takoradi for salary payments.
At around noon, while staff were returning to the company premises, the suspects ambushed them near Unique School Junction at Nyanikrom. Riding a motorbike and an unregistered sedan, the suspects forcibly broke the vehicle’s window and stole the cash.

Police officers who had mounted surveillance in the area responded swiftly, arresting three suspects and recovering ¢149,500.00 in stolen cash.
The suspects have been identified as Francis Mensah, alias Francis Kwaw, 34, Ebenezer Cofie, 32 and Samuel Bentum, 35
They are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, a company driver, Maxwell Kofi Yeboah, who is alleged to have conspired with the suspects, is currently at large and being actively pursued by police.
The Western Regional Police Command has assured the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect and bring all perpetrators to justice.
