Notorious Robbers Jailed as Upper West Regional Police Secures Conviction

The Upper West Regional Police Command has successfully secured the conviction and sentencing of two notorious armed robbers, bringing a sense of relief and justice to communities affected by their crimes.

Abdulai Ibrahim, alias Baba, a 34-year-old driver’s mate, and Abdulai Kipo, a 36-year-old butcher, were found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery and multiple counts of robbery. The Wa Circuit Court, presided over by Jonathan Avoogo, sentenced Ibrahim to 28 years and Kipo to 18 years in prison with hard labour.

The convicts were linked to a string of armed robberies carried out in various locations, including Napogbakole, Danko, SSNIT, and Konta, all within the Wa Municipality. Their arrest followed a series of intelligence-led operations and thorough investigations by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate.

The Police Command praised the diligent efforts of the investigative teams, whose work ensured the successful prosecution of the case.

In a statement, the Upper West Regional Police Command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating crime and safeguarding the peace and security of residents across the region.

The Command also called on the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing credible information that supports ongoing efforts to rid the region of criminal elements.
