
The National Highway Patrol Unit of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Ernest Mohammed Adjiri, for the unlawful possession of narcotic drugs following a special intelligence-led operation in the Greater Accra Region.

The arrest was made during a targeted operation conducted by a team of police officers, resulting in the retrieval of one hundred and twenty (120) slabs of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. The narcotics were concealed in three fertiliser sacks and transported in a Hyundai i10 taxi with registration number GW 9832-22.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect admitted ownership of the substances.
Mohammed Adjiri is currently in police custody and will be arraigned before court as investigations continue.
The Ghana Police Service reiterates its commitment to fighting drug trafficking and related crimes, and urges the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activities.
