The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two men suspected of plotting a robbery near Asankragua.
The suspects, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, 28, and Karim Yakubu, 42, were found hiding in a bush along a stretch of road during a routine police patrol. Upon spotting the officers, the suspects attempted to flee, diving into an abandoned mining pit in a desperate bid to escape arrest.

Police officers acted swiftly and managed to apprehend the suspects after rescuing them from the pit.
A search at the scene led to the recovery of a shotgun, three AAA cartridges, and a Nokia keypad mobile phone.
The suspects are currently in custody and assisting police with ongoing investigations.
