The community has for some time now been battling with the Mensin Mines over resettlement as the mines expand operations.
The community has also been accusing the mining firm leaving mining pits that have been trapping people, especially children to death.
Last week the youth in Bibiani planned a demonstration against the mining company but that was called off at the eleventh hour without any details.
The youth later massed up and charged on the military fencing them away.
It was immediately unclear, which group of people were responsible for the Sunday afternoon shooting in the mining town of Bibiani.
