One person has been confirmed dead in floods at Tetegu in the Weija-Gbawe municipality of the greater Accra region.
A visit to Tetegu saw some residents returning home as the flood water begins to recedes.
Education has also been hard hit by the floods as schools were also flooded.
This year’s flooding did not only destroy properties, but also took the life of a 55-year-old man at Tetegu.
Tetegu is a low-lying community in the Weija-Gbawe municipality of the greater Accra region.
For years, residents have had to battle spillage of the Weija dam which ends up flooding their homes and displacing many.
The situation was however different this year.
Member of Parliament of Weija-Gbawe, Tina Mensah has pledged to work to ensure the impact of the flooding is minimized next time.
