The Suhum District Court remanded two suspects, Emelia Akua Asor and Seth Butuakwa, into Police Custody

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has provided an update on the ongoing investigation into an alleged assassination attempt on a chief in the Eastern Region.

According to the Command, two suspects, Emelia Akua Asor and Seth Butuakwa, were on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, arraigned before the Suhum District Court on preliminary charges of conspiracy to commit crime, to wit murder, and preparation to commit crime, to wit murder.

The charges and facts were read and explained to the suspects in open court in the presence of their lawyer.

The court subsequently remanded both suspects into police custody to reappear on October 24, 2025, as the investigation continues.

Confirming the development, the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Eastern South Regional Police Command, DSP David Fianko-Okyere, stated that the case is being handled with urgency and professionalism, assuring the public that they will be updated as new information becomes available.

“Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and further updates will be communicated in due course,” DSP Fianko-Okyere stated.
