Road Rage Turns Violent: Man Arrested After Brutal Assault Following Maamobi Motor Accident

A routine motor accident at Maamobi has taken a violent turn, leading to the arrest of a 33-year-old man for alleged assault.

The Kotobabi District Police Command says the incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2026, when patrol officers encountered a 24-year-old victim, Yakubu Manan Abdul, who reported that he had been attacked after a collision with the suspect, identified as Razak Kwanda.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a dispute following the accident escalated, with the suspect allegedly assaulting the victim and causing him injuries.

The victim and his damaged motorbike were escorted to the Kotobabi Police Station, where a formal complaint was lodged.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, February 26, 2026, and is currently on police enquiry bail, assisting with investigations.

Police have cautioned the public against resorting to violence during road accidents or disputes, urging motorists to remain calm and allow lawful procedures to take their course, as investigations continue.
