For families of victims whose loved ones vanished or were killed under mysterious circumstances, time has not eased the pain, nor the questions left unanswered.
Months and even years after these tragic incidents, many families are still waiting for justice and closure.

Now, the Ghana Police Service says it is renewing efforts to solve some of the country’s most troubling unsolved crimes, as the Criminal Investigation Department intensifies investigations into a number of high-profile murder and disappearance cases that once captured national attention.
Unanswered questions and lingering grief continue to haunt families whose loved ones became victims of violent crimes.
In response, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service says its Cold Case Unit has stepped up investigations into several unresolved cases involving murder, disappearance and violent death.

The renewed investigations will rely on fresh intelligence, forensic analysis and a comprehensive review of previously gathered evidence.
Among the cases under renewed scrutiny is the disappearance of Paulina Lamisi Akanbodiipo, a women’s organiser for the National Democratic Congress in the Tema West Constituency, who was reported missing in June 2024.
Her whereabouts remain unknown.

Investigators are also reviewing the murder of Stella Adzoa Potakey Donkor, who was found dead in her room at Tema Gulf City in February 2024.
Another case being revisited is the killing of Anthony Kudzo Ahiamah, an employee of Dizengoff Ghana, who was murdered at Oyarifa in September 2024.
Police are also continuing investigations into the fatal stabbing of Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, a supporter of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, who died during a football match involving Nsoatreman FC.
Authorities say the Cold Case Unit is reviewing several other unresolved incidents not yet made public.
The Ghana Police Service says no case involving murder or disappearance will be abandoned, and is urging members of the public with information to come forward to assist investigations.
For families still searching for answers, the renewed effort offers a glimmer of hope that justice may yet be served.
