A concerned Kusaug Youth Movement, KYM, has vowed to arrest the rival Bawku chief, Alhaji Seidu Abagre, enskinned by Nayiri on Wednesday February 15 at Naleregu if government fails to arrest him.
According to the youth group, government’s posture towards the bawku situation has over the years been reduced to lip-service.
the government on Thursday February 16, issued a statement indicating that it has instructed the security agencies to arrest the new Bawku chief enskinned by the Nayiri and overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga.
But the Kusaug youth movement, said they do not trust the government’s words.
They said they will do all they can to fish out the supposed chief, apprehend and hand him over peacefully to the appropriate authorities within the shortest possible time.
A leading member of the Kusaug youth movement and spokesperson, Issahaku Mohammed Aruk, addressing the media at Bawku said the group said the enskinment of Alhaji Seidu Abagre Kulugu, is a threat to the peace of Bawku and national security hence must be halted with immediate effect.

This is the second group to call on the government to arrest the purported chief after a coalition of New Patriotic Party, NPP members in the Kusaug traditional area.
In a related development, a national security operative has reportedly been shot dead at Pusiga Friday night.
Moro Kufour, was said to have received a phone call from someone who requested to meet with him.
He was reportedly shot upon arriving at the location along with a friend of his, Hardi Abdulai, who also sustained gunshot wounds.
Sources say Moro Kufour died shortly after he was rushed to Blessing hospital at Pusiga while his friend who Hardi Abdulai was referred to the Tamale teaching hospital in critical condition.
One of the assailants was later arrested also in critical condition and handed over to the Bawku police for investigation.
