Paul Adom-Otchere, host of Metro TV’s “Good Evening Ghana,” has retaliated against renowned broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwa, also known as KKD, for his recent remarks on the Finance Minister.
He asserted that it is untrue that all of the government borrowing is profitable for the former company of the Finance Minister, as claimed by KKD.
Adom-Otchere claimed in an editorial for his program that KKD’s comments could only be characterized as pure jealousy.
According to Paul Adom-Otchere, Databank, the former employer of Ken Ofori-Atta, has been serving as Ghana’s consultants on the Eurobond market since 2014.
Therefore, it cannot be said that Databank just got involved after President Akufo-Addo named Ofori-Atta Minister of Finance in 2017
.
“I agree with KKD, people can’t take up government contracts and set up a company, that I agree with. But the references he is making is to people whose companies have not been set up today, they have been doing that work already.”
“So I come to sit on TV and say David Awauh-Darko, I’m older than him, he is a small boy and he came from nowhere, now he is a Minister of Finance and IC Securities are doing government business; that’s not analysis, that’s envy.”
“That’s not analysis, that’s pure jealousy, envy and it is foolishness,” he added.
