Top-rated Ghanaian middleweight boxer Elvis Ahorgah, popularly known as “Soldier Boxer,” is set to face British Commonwealth champion Callum Simpson in a high-stakes bout at London’s Wembley Arena on February 1, 2025. The fight, which will feature the Commonwealth Super Middleweight title on the line, serves as an undercard to the Adam Azim vs. Sergey Lipinets clash.

Ahorgah, who has a professional record of 13 wins (12 by knockout) and two losses, missed a previous opportunity to compete in the UK due to travel complications. However, he is determined to make his mark this time around.

“This is my chance to make history, not just for myself but for Ghana. It’s been a long time since a Ghanaian won the Commonwealth title, and I believe this is my opportunity to change that,” Ahorgah shared during an interview at the Black Panthers Gym on Wednesday.

Callum Simpson, undefeated with 16 wins, is equally determined to retain his title and continue his rise in the boxing world. Hailing from Barnsley, Yorkshire, Simpson is regarded as one of Britain’s brightest boxing prospects, with strong local support bolstering his confidence.

Ebenezer Adjei, head coach of the Black Panthers Gym in Jamestown, Accra, expressed optimism about Ahorgah’s chances. While acknowledging that the British weather and a home crowd could favor Simpson, Adjei is focused on preparing his fighter for the challenge.

“As a professional boxing coach with extensive international experience, my goal is to guide Ahorgah through any hurdles. We’re approaching this fight with a positive mindset and a commitment to success,” Adjei remarked.

Ahorgah has built a reputation for delivering thrilling performances, including a memorable bout against Baubali at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, which drew a large crowd. Although he faced defeat in a previous fight in Tanzania, the Ghanaian boxer is eager to turn the tide and make his country proud.

All eyes will be on Wembley Arena as Ahorgah looks to etch his name into the history books with a victory on British soil.
