According to the workers, government has since 2012 when the reviewed salaries were approved, been playing delay tactics with its implementation; something that leave them no choice than to withdraw their services.
“The National Executive Council of Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana directs the withdrawal of services by all staff of the service effective 1st April 2016 until our demands are met,” its President, Alex Nartey announced Thursday afternoon.
Mr Nartey said the government has not demonstrated its willingness to pay them the new increased salaries and allowances, and that until the government address their concerns they will not back down on their demand, Onua FM’s Nii Okai Tetteh reports
JUSAG in February this year resolved and issued a threat to withdraw its services should government fail to pay the consolidated salaries implemented by March 31.
“It may be recalled that in 2012, it became apparent for a review of staff salaries. Consequently, a petition submitted to the Judicial council for a new salary structure was approved and forwarded to government for implementation,” a statement issued earlier said.
According to the leadership of the association, several follow-ups on the issue have not yielded the expected results.
