The upper east regional house of chiefs has condemned the Wednesday February 15 purported enskinment of ‘new Bawku Naba’ and has called on the national security to investigate and bring perpetrators to book.
The house of chiefs at an emergency meeting expressed dismay over the situation, which it noted could worsen the volatile Bawku chieftaincy crisis.
The house affirmed that Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, is the paramount chief of Bawku traditional area and a member of the upper east regional and national house of chiefs.
They maintained that there cannot be two paramount chiefs for Bawku government must act swiftly and decisively to end the Bawku crisis for peace to prevail.
In a related development, the Kusaug traditional council, has regretted the Nalerigu enskinment but called on the people of Bawku and environs to remain calm.
According to the traditional council, the needless killing of people in Bawku is a great cost to the area hence the government must be allowed to amicably deal with the crisis.
