A team of aviation safety are in Accra to assist Ghana in the Ghana aircraft accident and incident investigation and prevention bureau, AIB, to adopt a new aircraft safety and tracking system.
The efficient air traffic safety technology is capable of providing real-time up to speed information on the aircraft during flight to increase.
It is accurate to say that air travel is among the safest modes of transportation.
However, when aviation accidents do happen, the results are often catastrophic.
The national transportation safety board estimated a total of nearly 24 million flight hours.
Of the 24 million hours, 6.84 of every 100,000 flight hours yielded an airplane crash with 1.19 of every 100,000 yielding a fatal crash.
This is because existing technologies are unable to give real-time testimony of aircraft conditions during flights.
The star navigation systems group technology is a leading-edge technology, that assist aviation operators worldwide by bridging the gaps in aviation safety.
The Accra workshop is to position Ghana’s aircraft accident and incident investigation and prevention bureau, AIB, for the new world of aviation safety.
What is new?
Real-Time Aircraft Health and Engine Condition Monitoring (ECM), Fuel Management System (FMS), Optimized Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) Analytics, and Enhance Safety Management Systems (ESMS).
Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS)
Star Navigation facilitates GADSS’s Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) that airlines and aircraft operators utilize for aircraft/fleet tracking in normal conditions as well as in distress. – Ask us how?
Star Navigation Systems Group Technology
Star navigation systems group ltd (“star”) is a leading-edge technology, publicly traded Canadian company on the Canadian stock exchange (cse). It focuses on providing aerospace solutions hardware and software- that assist aviation operators worldwide. headquartered in Ontario Canada.
Its real-time capability of tracking performance trends and predicting incident-occurrence enhances aviation safety and improves fleet management while reducing costs for the operator.
Automatic Cellular (Local/Roaming) transfer of flight data parameters from STAR ADS® (Airborne Data Services) provides data driven trend analysis and insights to improve operational and maintenance efficiencies including Fuel Management Savings
* Engine Condition Monitoring
* End of Flight reports FOQA monitoring
* Automated OOOI times
* Predictive Maintenance on an interactive user-friendly Dashboard.
Star’s subsidiary, Star-Isoneo Inc. is a specialized software firm, developing complex solutions in engineering, simulation, and development for Canadian customers. Star-Isoneo works closely with Star in the development of the Company’s MEDEVAC (STAR-ISAMM™ and STAR- LSAMM™) applications of the patented STAR-A.D.S. ® technology.
Unlike other consultants or suppliers, Star acts as an operating partner to enhance our customers efficiency and profitability.
Star takes pride in its strong relationships with customers, employees, and its expertise surrounding global navigation systems, all fundamental to the company’s growth. Our vision serves as the framework for our roadmap and guides every aspect of our business by describing what we need to accomplish in order continue achieving sustainable quality growth.
Safety
Gaps in worldwide aircraft tracking to meet ICAO’s Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) requirement
Delayed FOQA Analysis Report due to untimely manual data extraction
Inefficient real time aircraft and fleet location tracking
Reliance on Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) for post-accident investigation
Lack of Safety record keeping
Continuous close monitoring of aircraft parameters from power-on to power-off to detect and transmit exceedances and alerts through satellites
Continuous transmission of flight location, heading, speed and altitude every 2 minutes through ‘Tweets’
Continuous transmission of customizable flight parameters every 4 minutes through Heartbeats’
Profitability
Airline is currently receiving aircraft data through ACARS, based on line of sight VHF transmission
Airline doesn’t have latest real time data for ECM, FOQA, MOQA, Fuel Consumption and OOOI
Airline receives delayed data analytics from third party
Lack of historical data allowing for data mining, forecasting and analysis
Airline receives reactive, untimely post-flight analysis reports leading to missed opportunity to fix issues
Lost Revenues due to high costs of unplanned Maintenance and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events
Performance
Inefficient ‘Engine Condition Trend Analysis’ due to untimely manual data extraction
Lack of real time Aircraft Health Monitoring of entire airline fleet during all phases
Inefficient and manual generation of End-of-Flight Operations and Maintenance reports
Lack of timely post-flight data from international airport hubs
Lack of a centralized management tool giving real time operational picture of fleet, performance, safety and insights into fuel consumption, maintenance and financial reports
Automatic post flight data transmission providing timely Engine Condition Monitoring reports to reduce and forecast unscheduled engine maintenance events through data analysis and Predictive Maintenance
Environmental Sustainability
Precise measurement of fuel burns – gate to gate
Prepare trends on aircraft systems to detect changes in fuel consumption
Measure contributory factors towards increasing carbon footprint
Manage your Carbon credits with precision
Reduction in Carbon emissions equals greener environment
Automated digital end of flight reports – Go paperless – Go green!
Improved Airline Safety
Improves airline safety through proactive flight data analysis, Individual Pilot Performance, Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) trend analysis reports, etc
Automated End of Flight Reports
Generates End of Flight (EoF) Reports within moments of shutting engines after landing at any airport
Improved Operational Efficiency
Reduces unscheduled engine maintenance, increases profitability and improves airline efficiency through Engine Condition Monitoring (ECM) Trend Analysis Reports, Fuel Consumption Reports and OOOI
Automatic Big Data Analysis
Provides airlines with flight information for ‘Big Data Analysis’ and intelligent data decisions
