Accra Police Investigate Madina Fire Outbreak and Shooting Incident; Seven Injured

The Accra Regional Police Command has launched investigations into a fire outbreak that occurred on the morning of Saturday, 3rd August 2025, at Madina Ritz Junction, which left seven people injured.

Preliminary reports indicate that, in the midst of the fire outbreak, a shooting incident occurred, resulting in injuries to the seven victims. Emergency services swiftly responded, with fire personnel bringing the blaze under control and police officers securing the area to protect lives and property.

All seven victims have been identified and are currently receiving medical treatment at various hospitals.

An active investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Efforts are also underway to apprehend those responsible.

In the meantime, police visibility has been intensified in the affected area to maintain peace and prevent further disturbances. The public is urged to volunteer credible information that may assist with the investigation.

The Accra Regional Police Command is warning against attempts to exploit emergencies to commit crimes, stating that anyone found culpable will face the full rigours of the law. Residents are encouraged to remain calm, cooperate with security personnel, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
