Pressure is mounting on President Akufo Addo to see to the resolution of the Bawku chieftaincy conflict.

Several organizations in and outside of Bawku are unanimous in their demand for government to take practical steps to end the age-long conflict

But the regent of the chief warrior of Mamprugu, Kanbonaa Gbandana Ahn-zim wusa manga, insists a committee of eminent chiefs is better placed to deal with challenges.

The Wednesday February 15 enskinment of a rival Bawku Naba had inflamed passions and heightened tension in the area.

Various groups and security analysts continue to raise concerns about the seeming slow response from government to the threat posed by the age-long chieftaincy dispute.

The 49 elected and appointed assembly members of the Bawku west district have unanimously called for immediate and pragmatic action from the government in dealing with the issue permanently.

Members of the Tempane district assembly also followed to express their anger over how the conflict is allowed to fester.

But the regent of the chief warrior of Mamprugu, Kanbonaa Gbandana Ahn-zim Wusa Manga has a different approach to resolve the crisis.

He insists a committee of the eminent chiefs is better placed to deal with challenges.
