A senior principal state attorney, Saeed Abdul-Shakur, has encouraged the heads of the various security agencies to make a concerted effort to remove indiscipline officers from the field.
According to him, such undeserving officers should never in any way be shielded for the benefit and the interest of the larger populace.
Saeed Abdul-Shakur, was speaking the 2022 West Africa Security Services Association, WASSA, organized by the 10 Mechanized Battalion at Aggrey Barracks-Home of the Hippos, at the Ghana Armed Forces, GAF, Headquarters in Wa.
The WASSA program gives the forces the opportunity to bond, socialize, and reflect on their performance during the previous year.
Additionally, it enables the security services to plan their upcoming operations for the new year.
A Senior Principal State Attorney, Saeed Abdul-Shakur, regretted the growing incidents of indiscipline and unprofessionalism involving security officers in the country, and called for an immediate paradigm shift to arrest the situation.
He maintained that there is no way the country can become better off if the people tasked with the mandate to enforce the laws are themselves lawless and disregard the safety, security and the well-being of the people they are to serve and protect.
The commander of the 10 Mechanized Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel France Kwasi Gyimah, in his opening remarks, praised the cooperation among the various sister security agencies in maintaining peace in the Upper West Region and urged them to keep working closely with the people in order to deepen the relationship and to better ensure the safety, security and the welfare of people.
The Upper West Regional minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, underscored the role of the security services in safeguarding the country.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to assisting the various services to help maintain order and calm as well as residents’ safety.
