The group also challenged claims by a section of the public that the first suspect arrested in connection with the recent watchmen ki and killings has mental condition.
At least 10 persons have been reported missing within the last few weeks in wa.
Two of the missing persons were later found dead and buried in shallow graves.
The IGP visited the area this week to re-assure residents of the readiness of the police to protect lives and property.
The overlord of the waala traditional area, naa fuseini seidu pelpou iv, has proposed the imposition of curfew over the wa municipality and its environs.
But the interior minister, ambrose dery who was in the area along with the IGP- noted that the police is competent to deal with the situation without a curfew.
On tuesday, one kankani adongo, was arrested after intensified search by the community.
The suspect is in police custody assisting with investigations and is to be arraigned for court.
However, a section of the public and close relatives have jumped to his defence claiming kankani adongo is a known mentally ill person and so cannot be responsible for the crime.
But the wa tendambas (landlords) are challenging such claim,.
Spokesperson for the wa tendambas, hussein kaum tendaana, told the media there is evidence to prove that the suspect does not have any mental difficulties.
